6 years ago I started building my current loudspeakers based on the astera. I used high quality MDF as cabinet material, the build can be seen here,

The loudspeakers are still used every day in my listening room and I am still very satisfied with these loudspeakers.
Last year I build a record player with a plinth of the material Corian, it was a great improvement relative to my previous player, which was made of veneered plywood. That made me thinking of another built of my current loudspeakers out of corian
a few weeks ago I started the built, I still have the drawings that I made 6 years ago, these are based on a thickness of 25mm, corian plats are 12.5mm thick, so I had to glue 2 plates together to achieve 25mm thickness.

Found a pile of 12, 3/4" emerald green Corian sink cutouts at a yard sale - thought I'd struck gold - put so much effort into just moving and storing those things... Never got around to making use, before I divorced, moved out to the West coast 25 years ago.

HI, that truly looks great! Last year I started as a student on thh Hout en Meubilering College in Rotterdam. Now I am looking for challenging projects, and I think this one is very challenging. Can I find those drawings somewhere. I would like to create these in solid dutch essen and walnut. Thanks in advance.

Very nice. Next pair you should go for 10mm + 14mm corian + 1mm viscoelastic glue = 25mm. This will give you an even deader cabinet.

Had a google around on this. Turns out you can use anything that'd cut wood. Hole saw, bandsaw, jigsaw etc. I'd been thinking of Corian for a TT plinth, kitchen suppliers sell offcuts, some will cut to size & finish edges if that's what you want.

Everything part is made by myself, I own a little cnc milling machine , that make it little easier
Huge congratulations on what you did, it looks fantastic! I just joined the forum because I'm looking for people with experience building enclosures out of Corian. I'm going to build myself a pair of monitors, but I'm afraid the result will be negative. I am convinced that due to the stiffness and weight of Corian, the cabinet will be more "acoustically dead" than made of wood, which of course positively affects the measured parameters of such a construction. But what about the musicality of such a contruction? Is it suitable for listening to classical music, clear vocals, acoustic guitar? Do you miss the natural distortion that wood gives? Will the sound from Corian be too clean or tiring after long listening to the music? What are your impressions?
