Rich; check out this link for the AlephJ. There are other links to a German site with connection schematics which might be helpful.Click on gallery at the bottom

Cores of toroidal transformers from a lot of companies produce a mechanical hum by the present of unwanted dc components (e.g. unsymmetrial clipping of the sine wave) on the mains (sounds often more like a buzzing noise).Usually toroids don't make for good DC chokes, as they work
all too well and saturate. On they other hand, if they work,
they work.
Otoh - there are also companies, whose toroidals are extremly quiet, independend of the mains condition.
Can I assume, that the last kind of transformers also suited as a good DC choke resp. DC inductor?
BTW - in this case this paper could be of interest:

Out put imbalance ?
Finally had time to repair my A30 , but now I have a low output on the repaired channel .
Could someone advise me on trouble shooting this please ?
Thanks , Rich

well
you know the drill : post schematic , then we can tell what and where to measure
input diff pair current , output current etc.

Thanks Zen , I'm in Germany for a few days but shall measure and post results when I get back home .
