I'm trying to simulate my system in PCD, to convince you 🙂
I imported your files for the 16GKLV6M impedance and response.
Do you have similar files for the D300P04 and for the TW025A28 ? 🙂
For those two speakers I don't have the impedance and response phase, is this a problem for PCD simulations ?

For the D300P04 maybe ....
For the TW025A28 no, you can try to get frd and zma curves from datasheet with SPL Trace :
FRD Consortium
Just DIY It ! Spl Trace
Measuring impedance is easy with REW with a PC and soundcard if you have the speaker.

You don't have to convince me because I own those speakers (D300P04-16GKLV6M)
The combinaison D300P04 + 16GKLV6M+TW034 with active crossover is my experimental design, D300P04 will be replaced this summer by 12BR70 with a passive crossover.
I also own the Nomex164 wich is my current speaker, you will find pictures of my systems on my blog :

I had a quick look at your blog.
The Nomex look really nice !!! Did you do the paint work ? What paint did you use ?
I really like how they look...
Unfortunately I couldn't listen to them, I have to trust you 😉
Regarding PCD, I just discovered it's a fantastic tool...
I took the time to input the response and impedance magnitude of my three drivers and in the end it worked and I could get a very good view of my filters.
I used only first orders at 260Hz and 4000Hz, just like I said before.
You will see in attachment the curves and the files.
The result is quite linear isn't it ? 😀

I could obtain something even more linear but at what price...
Second order filter everywhere, except for the tweeter (3rd order)...
What I really like with this tool is that it takes into account that the response of the filter is modified at the point where the impedance of the driver is in resonance.

You should try to invert polarity of he tweeter (Toggle button +/- on PCD)
Hi guys !
Some news about my project 🙂
I finished building and painting the first speaker and here are some pictures.
I still need to paint the front and back pane in shiny black.
I changed my mind regarding filtering, I will use a second order linkwiz everywhere.
It will cost 160 euros per speaker but the more time I spend on them, the more money I'm willing to spend 😉
See you 🙂

I just bought the components : Mundorf MCAP 400 and Mundorf L140/L200. 😀

There's something mystic about the 1st orders, though... 🙂
Just added two resistors on the medium channel to try to get rid of this bump created by the higher sensitivity of the 16GKLV6M woofer.

Hi,
I just received the passive filter components 😀
The Mundorf L200 looks huge compared to the Mundorf L140 🙄
I bought two L200, (4.7 and 5.6 mH) which are dimensioned for up to 400W.
As for the L140, (0.39 and 0.68 mH), they are dimensioned for up to 200W.
Can't wait to weld and glue everything up.
For the gluing of the components, do you think I can use a hot glue gun ?
I looked-up on wikipedia and it can heat up to 250 °F (121 °C)...

Hi,
Some news !
I've received the components and I'm building my passive filter for the first speaker. 😀
The second speaker is not built yet, I'm just finishing the paint of the first one in my garage (the front and back pane)... 🙄
Cheers

Yesterday evening (night...) I finished welding and assembling the first passive filter. As you can sse on the picture, it was... complicated...
Mu soldering iron is not powerful enough and I have to keep it in contact for a long time on the connections to make a proper welding. I hope I didn't damage my components... For now, I can't check anything anymore, I'll see how it sounds when I receive the loudspeakers.
😱
Anyways, for the rest, the picture speak for themselves. The overall result looks quite ugly and messy but I guess it could be worse. I tried to position the elements to avaid interference and cross-going cables.
Tonight I will weld the second one...

So, some news...
- Completed the second crossover.
- Closed the first speaker box by putting some rubber joint for windows to make it sealed and air-proof.
