Just curious has anyone built a 12" semi knockdown PA cab Birch Trapezoidal flat pack from parts-express? For $69 per cab kit was thinking of using all Faital Pro 12" neo and Faital 1" neo HF 108R on a Seos 15" horn crossed at 1.3 kHz or bi amped with double 15" subs. Was thinking 70-18kHz range. I also have amps and DCX 2496 Berry crossover and DEQ that I can play around with. I am willing to build a couple if someone can assist me with triangular corner ports size and crossover settings. Thanks

I'd be very hesitant to take a 1" driver down to 1.3kHz.

I took one down to 1.6kHz, but used it with a 6" midbass, so the entire cabinet won't go particularly loud anyway.
Your system will go quite a lot louder than that one, so I'd recommend taking the crossover up to 2kHz to ensure the survival of the HF driver.

+1 on that, I have similar drivers on a 1.6khz passive crossover(the lowest freq recommended for that driver) that are a little harsh sounding and that is what happens when they are pushed too low in my experience.

As for help with your project I'd be happy to, sounds like you have the right gear to get very good results with these components and experimenting with crossover frequencies will be easy enough.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking of getting a used EAW MK2199e on eBay, but in white and bad condition. Repaint and recones this will blow the budget that is why since I started the Double 15" JBL build, I was thinking just going 3 way for PA work and hope nice sounding since I already have the 15" woofers newly reconed and the electronics. The flat pack from PE is trapezoidal shape and 1.6 cu ft internal volume. I plan to use Faital Pro 12PR300 neo woofer has light cone and good to 5.0kHz. So a crossover of 2 kHz is doable. I already have all panels cut and planning on building the double 15" this coming weekend. But still have to modify for handles and casters on bottom edge and top hats.
Can you guys compute for me the ports on the baffle on bottom side like triangular cut outs? Was thinking crossed 200 Hz and 2.0kHz for the 1"?
Thanks guys will post pics on this site.
