I don t know what happened! it read fine on my computer. I don t have m'y files right know with me and won t be able to resend it before next saturday. I really am sorry. Hope you can already solder them and guess the schematics. Sorrry again . Nicolas

Hi,

Don't worry too much Nicolas - the rest of the files work fine for me, it's only the main DAC schematic PDF which appears blank? Most of the pinouts are in the build guide though, and you can work out the rest from the ES9008 datasheet (hint - G**gle).

I was wondering though, can anyone suggest any cheaper capacitors and 80MHz clock? I'm just looking to get my amp build up-and-running first, and I'll get the more expensive parts at a later date.

On Farnell (in the UK), the Cornell Dubilier caps are only available from the US, and this costs £15 extra for each order! They're also a tad expensive for me atm. So, would these aluminium caps be OK for testing (footprint may be a bit small)?...

Or, would only solid caps be recommended at all?

Also, would any of these oscillators be particularly nasty for audio (just for initial testing though)?...

EDIT: Oh, and thanks for your hard work on the PCBs, I can see they have been well thought out.

Hello yes the bom is in thé build guide. Will sdnd you when i cet back. For caps, Check it on mouser you can easily get free shipping . You can solder sanyo os cons leaded on the pads. For clock, if you can fit it ... I would not recommend switching components thou. Tell me if you have problems. Nicolas.

Thanks, Nicolas...

I didn't realize that Mouser had a UK order site now, so I'll buy all the bits on the BOM. I'm now just trying to decide which gadget I can buy to qualify for free postage (I don't need the pin headers etc.) - alas, I'm a poor person atm! 😉

It might be a while until I get things running again as I'm having problems with drilling the heatsinks for my amps etc. I hope to get at least the Sabre working with the RevC amps soon though.

OzOnE.
