Neoplanar 8" midrange drivers. Manufacturer's specs are 93-94dB/1W (4 ohm drivers), 500Hz to 10kHz. Stainless steel faces, neodymium magnets. Hooked them up (with a cap in series) and they play just fine. I've moved up the efficiency scale to PHLs and a JBL compression driver - these no longer fit with my speaker-building plans.

neoplanar 8"
These are the Aurasound Neoplanars with the stainless steel faceplates, rather than the B-G 8" midranges. Sorry for the lack of clarity.

specs
Hans -
I responded to your e-mail - may have gotten caught in your spam filter. Manufacturers specs are 500Hz to 10kHz range (although with practical filters it really ought to be about 800 to 8000 hz). 4 ohm driver. 94db/1W (I haven't measured this to validate, but they do play louder than some standard tweeters i have around when directly hooked up to an amp through a cap.)
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks!
