If I recall it is a 240VA transformer with 41 - 0 - 41 VAC winding, there was also a 12 - 0 - 12VAC winding for powering some lights and relay. The international version which I had offered several input switching, 110V/120V/220V and 240V. What makes you think that the transformer is faulty?

hi,and thanks for your reply, about 5-6 months ago i took it to a local sony engineer, the result was,he said the transformer is dead, what can i say.i surpose i could find some one else to look at it,yes thats what i will do,i will make some phone calls tomorrow.

Sounds like the thermal fuse in the transformer has tripped, if your lucky, it may be bypassable at the pins on the bobbin where the primary voltage tapswitcher is attached.

Its not a good idea to bypass such fuse since it tripped for a reason, but it would save some money.
