What would be directx9 hardware? Whats wrong with 64 bit ddr cards? You mean 64MB DDR? I was thinking of getting Radeon 7000 or 7500...

64-bit memory (bus) is half as slow as 128-bit. Some FX5200 cards use 64-bit wide memory bus to cut costs. If you are buying a new graphics card and also want to play some games don't buy them. If you prefer ATI chipsets (which doesn't have similar feature like DVC with Nvidia chipsets) get a 9200 card at least.

I tried Zoom Player with Asus V9520 card with DirectX 9.0b and the flip worked just fine (it's easy to CPU). You just got to get the ZP Professional (which is not too expensive) if you want to watch DVD, the latest Standard (free) version doesn't support DVD playback.

If you can write C++ code then DL the latest DirectX SDK and take the DS Contrast filter from the SDK and modify it to do the flip, so you'll have a free DS mirror / flip filter. But if you buy the Zoom Player Professional (recommended option) you don't need anything else, except the Dscaler for analog video & TV (but it's free anyway). Zoom Player can also scale the picture nicely so people with 15" TFT projectors can scale the image smaller so that the whole picture can be seen from one corner to the other (problem is that there aren't large enough fresnels, or there are but they are expensive, and OHP fresnel isn't quite enough for the 15"er).

The problem is I would like to keep my costs below the cost of a commercial projector.
I looked into the Radeon series 9000 and they are all over $100usd.
I can get a Radeon 7000 with dvi 64mb for $30 usd and the directshow mirror filter for $50 and I am all done.
I also want some way to deal with my Satelite signal. Super vhs in to tuner card and then what? Can I use the directshow mirror filter with the tuner software to mirror my Sat signal?
I want to avoid Dscaler entirely then.

I also have another problem where I cant use the full screen of my 15 inch now. I have to resize the player or tuner window to 80% of the screen.

Keystone not working in nvidia driver?

Gidday i tried the nvidia driver 45.23 9x it shows the keystone and rotate options but it wont work when i click on it to adjust i just get a click noise, I have a Nvidia GeForce mx 440 sdr 64meg
It says something about you need a GeForce 256 has anyone got it to work with a similar card to mine? I think they mean it has to have a 256bit card? any ideas?

See this page., there the link to file hunucrop1021.lzh which is a DS filter which can flip image horizontally and vertically (it's free, the hunuCap is a capture program for SAA7134 TV cards btw.). You can't use it obviously for flipping the desktop, only video (DivX, DVD etc.). Portrait can indeed rotate desktop but not flip it. You better get a second monitor (cheap 15" monitor etc.) for desktop use and use the pj just for vieving movies (or flip the LCD itself).
