Does anyone know where I can find software that will allow me to "flip" my picture horizontally (and I'm sure it would be able to do it vertically as well). I hope this isn't a video card specific thing, and that software will be able to do it. I'm not too sure how to search for this kind of thing on google.
Basically, I'm going to remove the mirror of my OHP and set the thing on it's side (like YWH has his). This is something I really need to do because I think with the OHP's fan blowing upward, and no heat rising through the panel, I can toss my added fans. It's just too annoying trying to watch a movie when it sounds like somebody is vacuming in the room. What I don't want to do is re-mount my panel. If I can find software to flip the image, I won't have to.

lifter,
if you find software it will be a video card thing. how else are you gonna run the software if it wasn't? Nvidia has a really good keystone and flip software that might work for you. or the easier way is to flip your panel upside down and flip it . if not you'll have the image right side up but the text will be backwards.

So Nvidia has software to do this? Thanks. I actually spent all day reworking my OHP so that I could flip my LCD. It was a disaster. Too much pressure on the ribbons. I thought I broke it for a while. I put it back the way it was and it's fine now, phew. I'll look into the Nvidia thing.
Lifter,
check out http://nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_41.09
this is the driver that will let you adjust keystone and other settings such as flip (nVrotate) or invert the picture. download it (about 16MB). install it. then go to your video settings and do your thing there. if you need any more help let me know.

Keystone Correction
I have actually been trying to use the Nvidia Keystone correction for a while now and can't get it to work with my panel. Everytime I activate the Keystone Correction I get a double image on the screen. A frozen image of my background and icons with the new windows, etc, overlayed on top but translucent. Any ideas if it's possible to fix this??

Hmmmm. Ok, it is not "flip" software. It's rotate software. There is a difference, but thanks anyways. I couldn't find the keystone correction in the display properties, but whatever, not important. I'm just going to find some quiet fans.
dscaler can eliminate the need of a mirror if you got an HTPC.
Settings--Advanced Settings--- Decoding/Output Settings---Vertical Mirror
And its all free babyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/
You can use it with any dvd player but I tried it with cineplayer.
Anyone tried it with theatertek?

Btw, I was thinking of sending an email to them to remember to think of us diy guys and make sure they include this feature in future versions.
Descaler would work... but then you have to run everything through it and the one problem with the program is it has a nasty wash effect. Dark scenes are too dark and bright scenes are too bright.
Not worth it. At least for me.

Use Zoom player and buy the about $50 MV Mirror (www.montivision.com) directshow filter. ZP allows you to insert the Mirror filter to graph manually. Try the trial first, see:

Quickly tried the MV Mirror with Zp but couldn't find it in the filter list (mirror.ax was registered with regsvr32 but still no visibility, didn't reboot though).
However, Zoom player has an option to flip image vertically or horizontally, but only with DirectX 9 and VMR9.
ZP -> Player Options -> Filter Control -> Settings tab -> Video Renderer (set to Video Mixing Renderer 9)
Also check Additional Filter Settings:
Fix VMR9 scaling bug
and
Flip video horizontally (VMR9 only) or
Flip video vertically (VMR9 only).
Obviously you will need DirectX 9 hardware and DirectX 9.0b installed (any cheap FX5200 card should be OK, beware 64-bit DDR cards).

Also the LEAD multimedia filter pack includes filter which can rotate AND flip! See LEAD for more information (test with Zoom).
Edit: I got the Lead Rotate Directshow filter working (with MPEG source anyway, didn't test with DVD). This is one solution, one problem may be the TV / video vieving (afaik, Zoom Player just plays back multimedia files, doesn't support tuner etc. devices). You could obviously use Dscaler if you want to view VHS videos or TV and have a TV card on your PC.

Btw. if you are into video editing check the other Lead filters too! There are planty of FX filters, like Rain, they look fabulous!

What would be directx9 hardware? Whats wrong with 64 bit ddr cards? You mean 64MB DDR? I was thinking of getting Radeon 7000 or 7500...
I never said it was lousy! I just said that it tends to have that wash effect. It's great if your looking to watch VHS. But DirectTV or DVD... I'd look elsewhere.
