Need some help sourcing inductors.

Not sure if the right place to ask but here goes. I'm trying to fix a pair of crossovers from my Infinity Overture 2's. They don't sell the replacement parts any longer so it is fix them or trash them. I really want to keep them. What I'm trying to find is are a .68 mH iron core inductor and a 3.7 mH iron core inductor. I have found air core but no iron core ones. The ones I found are larger gauge wire than what I have. I asked on other sites if it matters if I use air or iron core with only one response they said it doesn't matter as long as the value is the same. The problem is the size of the air cores are huge. I think they will fit but I would like to find something smaller. I have found Erse and Solon are there others? Thanks for any help you can give.

Parts Express shows 3.6mH and 3.9mH in iron core. If you have a meter, a few winding turns could be removed from a 3.9 to achieve value, or just call 3.6 close enough.

I agree with the above that the coils rarely are bad unless they are just melted.

They are the only thing that shown any damage. The shrink wrap is seperating on one and shriveled on the other with epoxy or whatever the coating on the wires oozed out the side. I don't have a meter but I might pick one up. Thanks for the replies.

Being new here my posts take forever to show up. I don't have any decent equipment at the moment. I was thinking of building a tube headphone amp so some might be needed. There are cheap capacitance and inductance meters on ebay really cheap like $14 usd from China are they any good.

Well I just received my new LCR meter and the inductor is bad. It read like .01 when it was a 3.7 mH . This inductor is small and all the replacements I find are 10 times the size. I have room in the speaker box to fit it but I read somewhere that inductors needed to be at 90 degree angles to one another to cancel of magnetic interference . I don't know I am new to crossovers design and the like. I just don't want to send these speakers to the dump.
