Need some help sizing an SUT

Why does the gain go up when the cathode resistor gets larger? Seems backwards. Can someone explain this to me? Please.

Pad your other sources down to the same level so you have volume on 7/8 for all sources.
But then, my budget doesn't stretch to MC carts & SUTs.

No I don't like that solution. I am getting that HO-MC SUT.

Here's a triode load-line calculator. https://trioda.com/tools/triode.html. User inputs are in the blue-shaded area. Thus put 260V into Uamax, and "APPLY".

You can move the slider at both the top and left to see how different values of Rp and Rk influence gain, THD% etc.
