Hi everyone.
I am new to this forum, I would like some suggestions or any opinions?
It has been a while since I have done any tweeking winter is coming and it is cold and long,
in my area. I own a pair of Linn Keilidh in which are great speakers especially when it comes to speaker placement. They are a two way infanite baffle type with a frequency response of
65Hz-20kHz +/- 3dB their efficiency is 92 dB for 1 watt at 1 meter (1kHz). I will be replacing the tweeters with some Hiquphon OW2 domes. I found that my existing tweeters were to harsh
( ceramic dome). Now it is time to concider changing my capacitors and inuctors from Bennic which are the originals to perhaps Mundorfs? What do you think? Which would be the best choice? Will there be any sonic improvements? How shold I go about it?

Thanks

Well, for those of you who own a pair of Linn Keleidh speakers and want to transform them into
master pieces , replace the tweeters with Hiquphon tweeters ( OW2) and get rid of those Bennic
capacitors and replace with some Solen fast caps, do not change the values, and then brace yourself. The sound is magical. It has been along time since I have tinkered with audio equipment and I had forgotten how much fun it is......
My equipment I am using is as follows:

Cary Audio CD player 306/200
Krell KRC 3 Preamp
Krell KSA 100s Amp
Tara Labs RSC Air ones balanced interconnects
Acoustic Zen Bi-wire Hologram 2 speaker wires
Gutwire G- Clef power cables x2
JPS Audio the Digital power cable

FIM receptacles x2 with 12 guage wire right to the power main box.

Thank
Peter

Mundorf Silver/ oil are really good but are very expensive, my second choice would be dynamicap. Speak to Jeff over at Sonic Craft, Jeff is the designer of Sonicap he really knows his
caps. I just ordered some Dynamicaps and some mills resistors. I found the Solens a bit hissy.
The Dynamicaps are rolled off just a bit and have a very black backround. I used some less expensive Mundorf M-Cap MKP and they are bad, completly lost all detail. I guess you may have to try a few because it is all preference.........................

From previous experience they don't match well with most tweeters, they can be bright. I guess you have to be lucky? I would rather try the Sonicaps instead, they are not as finicky.
My choice would still be the Dynamicap period...
