I don't have time currently to get into the search for an amp so I am hoping for some suggestions.
Looking for a sub 100€ class D amp, to power some older Dual 4ohm bookshelf speakers in the office. Sensitivity is on the low end, as far as I remember. The office is really small 3x3m.
Given the fact that the desktop is rather old ( have some programs installed which I need and are not available anymore), should I consider getting also a separate DAC?
Many thanks!

I built a little desktop system last fall. Bought a TPA3250 amp to power it.
It's small and sounds good. I connected it directly to headphones output of MacBook. There was a hiss on higher volume levels which i solved by buying a grounded power adapter for the laptop. The stock one didn't have a ground pin.
Headphone output turned to be of a decent quality. The laptop is about 6-7 years old.

One the computer I use a Dayton DTA-2 (or DTA-1 for a finished amp) with a Audioquest Dragonfly DAC. The speakers are only 83.5dB but loud enough nearfield.
If the desktop is old enough to have regular PCI slots, it shouldn't be hard to scrounge up a decent sound card from a computer recycler if you don't have any lying around. Desktops and laptops with on-board sound often failed to feed them clean power, so had horrendous noise floors, but sound cards have on-board voltage regulators for the analog stuff and can achieve impressive S/N.
As for amps, there are ready-to-use boards for the price of a hamburger, but if you must have a finished box, there's these from Sure:

I have no experience with those, but the TA2024 board I bought from Sure was good.
