Yes, 6-watts per channel, may be enough to run 100 Spl/watt compression drivers, as this will be used as a tweeter amp only! So No hard Pull having to grip Large Iron woofers! This is my bi-amped amplifier. So, I can keep what I have! I have moved to Constant current grounded cathode topology and improve the PSRR and the Vth to 3.78V. Which will be better sound. So all is done and I feel I can go with what I have and be happy as all my values are spot on as to what I have originally planed on! Thanks, pianolydia P.s. I will be driving this amplifier with a main 1626 Tube Pre-amplifer, as well, so there will be enough gain! No problem there! So, I will use only 1/2 6AS7 per channel for the 6-watts and the 1.7k primary is perfect for that! I am using one tube envelope per channel, just only one half of it! Look at the Amp schematic....

It does not work that way.
If you keep the same OPT you'll end up loosing some power due to the mismatch anyhow.
BTW, I can understand why one would like the Edcor OPTs but why does it have to be the one with the 1K7 primary?
You'll also need to change some part values when the 6AS7Gs are //ed but we can see about that later.
Hopefully the 8SL7 stage has enough clout to drive the output properly.

My 'Cellini' amplifier uses 6AS7 with each half being a single ended output and uses a 6SN7 choke-loaded as driver. The driver when choke loaded gives full mu of around 20. But it isn't really enough to drive the 6AS7 and the overall gain of the amplifier is around 2. I think the 6SL7 would have the gain to give the 6AS7 the voltage it needs.
The 6AS7 provides a creditable song but I can't say it's the cleanest sound I ever heard. It is also power hungry - not just the 2.5A heater, but it needs a high cathode voltage in self-bias (this tube is not recommended for fixed bias) and the cathode resistor dissipates a lot of heat. The 6AS7 likes lots of current at low voltage so if you want enough headroom for the driver stage you end up dissipating a lot of heat.
I'm now thinking about re-wiring for use with 6V6 SE for more linearity and less heat.
