I need a service or kit-building manual for a SWTPC 215/A stereo power Amp. Also, can the two now-obsolete and unobtainable FP-type can power supply capacitors (each 4000 uf at 50V) be replaced with modern axial- or radial-lead caps of the same value? I've been told that as long as the new caps have the same electrical values as the old ones there should be no problem. Is that really so?
Also, I need service info for a Technics SA-5250 stereo receiver.

Hi, Don't know about the service manual as it depends on the popularity
of the brand.Yes you can substitue modern caps but I think the closest
value would be 4700uF 50V.You can go up to 10000uF if space permit.
Regards.

I think the 215A is the Dan Meyer Tiger amp? there are a number of design problems with these amps and many great articles on rebuilding them here and in Audio Amateur if i am correct. I would not attempt repairs on one until the AA article has been read or you have research previous posts here on the subject.

I think it is a scaled down version of the .01 as djk mentions, here is the .01 documentation: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/solid-state/150684-swtpc-tiger-01-207b-schematic.html
