I'm in a club that has an old Radio Shack PA system (32-2054) for a Radio Shack wireless microphone (3201258). The PA has two 1/4" phone plug microphone inputs, so I'd like to use the second one for laptop audio. I would configure the mixer in the computer to output mono, then I'd like to plug in a wireless transmitter into the laptop audio out 3.5mm socket and have that transmitter connect wirelessly to a receiver that has a 1/4" phone plug that would go into the PA mic input socket.
The distance is about 30 feet, so I'm not sure how well bluetooth would work. So, I don't know what wireless technology would be best.
What hardware would work to accomplish this?

I would avoid Bluetooth if the laptop was going to be used for any DJ work or watching videos because of the delay it would add. There are processional transmitters/receivers like these: http://cpc.farnell.com/denon-professional/dn-202wt/wireless-audio-transmitter/dp/DP34659 and http://cpc.farnell.com/denon-professional/dn-202wr/wireless-audio-receiver/dp/DP34660 These have a latency (delay) of 20 msec and should be fine for DJ and AV use too. Note: I haven't used these or any similar devices, so a bit of reading might be in order to check

Thank you very much, Brian. That's gotten me pointed in the right direction in looking for hardware. Using the line in will be much better.
You might check these out too. I've used them in homes, work pretty well, and not killer expensive. NOT Bluetooth or even compressed at all. Latency is not an issue.

Remember that wireless links can always take a hit. You really have to try them in the exact situation to know for sure if they're solid or not. Line of site is important! Obstacles, walls and ceilings reduce range and reliability.

If You are on a Club why don't You invest in something more professional ?
Forget 2.4 GHz. It's a crowded band used for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and so on.
I have one and works fine. Sennheiser and Shure have better ones but €€€$$$
