I was recently scavenging some transistors from an old tv transmitter. I was thinking of ordering some TIP35 NPN complementary transistors, but I thought I'd get the communities input as well.
I also have a a crap load of TIP31's too...
anyways, I'd love to get your input.

Simplest answer is to get the matching TIP35 and you'll have "muscle" for some 25 100W-4 ohms amps .
Which may be a little too many for your needs.
Or build 10 quasi complementary 100W-4 ohms amps and leave a few spares for the future.
Or make 6 200W-8 ohms plate amps for powered cabinets, a nice PA for an average band.
Of course, the big expense there will be power transformers and filter caps, if you can get some surplus for cheap go ahead 🙂
I would 😉
