Hey everybody, I am trying to built a low budget sub for my living room. The driver I'm using is a Dayton 8in. with about 75W plate amp. I'm still new at DIY home audio. I've been into car audio for some times now, but recently I'm getting very into home audio. Anyways, does anybody have any experience with this driver? I'm looking for deep low bass (under 30hz) in a smallest box as possible. My living room is not that big, so I don't need it to be very loud, just low. Also, how would this sub perform in a sealed box? If you have any tips or anything at all, that would be great. thanks for all you guys help

This sub would be OK in a sealed box probably about 22-32 litres, but would need a bit of EQ to reach 30Hz. I wouldn't go lower than 30Hz due to the excursion limits and the fact that you only have 75W to play with.
You may get better results with a vented box probably about 30-40 litres. The smallest vent you can you will probably be 50mm. Download WinISD and have a play. Keep tuning around 30-35Hz.

I'm probably make a ported box and tune it to 30hz. The box is going to be 1.3cuft. I figure after room extension, it sould be able to play under 30hz.
