that's good bandwidth too - what driver?
Beyma G550 18 inch with 9mm xmax.
another sub enclosure question
sorry for adding to the thread, but since the right crowd is hanging around here, maybe just a short one 🙄:
I am about to make subs based on the Beyma SB12 design (from 2009) for their 12P1000Nd driver (only I have B&C 12TBX100 with near 100% match in parameters so should be identical in performance).
I like the design only because the driver is well protected inside, other than that I only see a little horn effect for the back and virtually none for the front? A question for the the guys who model and have a bit of "feel" for these enclosures: What do you think about this one? Beyma shows some EQ setting in their document but no actual measurement for it.
Thanks!

Koja,
This looks like a nice design - very similar to the slot loaded bandpass concept I modeled here. I would model it for you but the drawing is missing too many dimensions to make it easy for me to pull a model together quickly and I don't feel like taking out dial calipers to measure unlisted dims. The corner turn towards the mouth does not have any dimensions.

Thanks xrk.
yes I too noticed the missing dimension, I was going to measure/estimate it off the drawing hoping it is to scale. and yes, Beyma has in the same document an example with two drivers, only bigger (I think 2x18), which looks like the above design only with two mirrored halves. I considered it briefly, but since i already committed to 12inch size it would be too much both sizewise and SPLwise, (before I close that side on the two subs I will be making I may stack them together and take a measurement just for the hack of it, i.e. to learn how it would compare with the "single" version 🙂).
