Need help with semi working LCD panel

I received a computer LCD panel which I intended to use for projection or if that didnt work as a second monitor or something.

When I first received the panel it turned on fine but it was all black. It is lighted with cold cathodes, and those do work.

Then I tried hooking it up to the computer and it would stop going into power saving but it still had no display. I tried flexing it a bit and pushing some wires and no it seems to have some sort of display. Its black on the left and right completely, but the middle is semi working.

Im thinking its some sort of bad connections somewhere, if its those tiny ribbon cables that would suck...

Here is a link to some high res pictures of the display on, and a picture of the back electronics. (yes i knew it was cracked but he showed me a picture of 80% of the lcd working):

The LCD panel is labled as Fujitsu but the model is sceptre x9 komodo 2.

Anyone know if the lcd panel is the same as any other lcds? or maybe the controller card... hm

Thanks!

Unfortunately when you break the glass you break the LCD (liquid crystal dispay) as well. Ever dropped a calculator and cracked the screen?? Same thing.

Keep your controller board though. You can resell it on EBay for a good chunk of change likely!😀

Was that an ebay thing?

If so what was the sellers user name?

I would guess it happened in the mail!

Did you pay for INSURANCE?

If you did, get him to claim it as damage in shipping and you may get your money back or a new LCD.

😀 good luck
