Need help with Pioneer 9100 volume pot

I have a pioneer 9100 that I would love to resurrect, but one of the issues is a broken volume pot assembly

The original has 2 gangs (two with a ground, six in total) with an additional two prongs coming from the bottom of each gang (what are these?).

I was able to retain the first part of the volume assembly and attach a new double gang pot to the back (keeping the volume limiter (0-30-60db), but I don't know what to do with the extra wiring. There are no pots available which have the same configuration as the original pioneer.

I took many pictures, and looked at the schematic, but I'm not sure what to connect/disconnect so that I can retain (at the very least) the main L/R volume functionality. Can you easily tell what the wires do by their colors?

The link is to a folder with some pictures of the pot. I also have some addiitonal photos if these aren't enough

Fourth pin appears to be "Level Set", it sets the maximum output level to prevent(?) damage to speakers in case of accidently winding up yje volume too much, refer to Section 4 of the service manual. As you know, the 3 pins on are volume pot are "Input, wiper/output and GND". Use a multimeter to sort out wiring,

Input comes from AWS-039 Pins 23(L), 18(R) through 58K resistor
Wiper/output Middle pin
GND=ground...
LEVEL SET connects to R21, R22

Thank you so much for replying. With your help, I figured out what to do to connect the L/R wires correctly to the pot on top. What do I do with the additional wires? How do those four bottom posts work? Are they also connected to the pots in the same line? There are two yellows (one striped and one not), two orange (one striped and one not) and two black wires (one with resistor). These six wires were originally connected to the bottom four posts (I believe the blacks were connected together with the orange). Do these 6 wires have to be connected to the same pot style only with 6 connectors at the top and 4 at the bottom (which is kind of impossible to find) or is it possible to use another pot with two separate gangs so the lower cabels can be connected too. I also found a pot with 8 connector parts ( the link) could this replace it.
