Need help with MIDI volume

I'm using a Yamaha P80 digital piano hooked up to the MIDI input of Gigastudio 3 (using kx project drivers on a Creative sound card) and the Emperor piano set. The problem is I can't get it loud enough, even if I turn all the volume controls to the max, in both the kx drivers and in all the DSP panels in Giga. Despite having set the keyboard touch to 'soft' it still takes too much force to send maximum velocity. So, how can I raise the velocity of the MIDI stream, and what are other places to try to turn up the volume?

is that piano specifically made as a MIDI controller? If not, check the Internet for similar bugs, try different drivers, is it still low if you have a standard "multimedia" driver?

Keep in mind that that sound card sucks past worse than anything else you could ever wish for in terms of drivers, at least that's what audio recorders would say.

Also you have to find a way of measuring what gate amplitude is going through to your computer, for example if you have reaktor, it's like a little Lego program,plug-in a single gate and pitch Lego block into the amplitude and pitch of an oscillator block, put the oscillator into the output, now when you play a key keep your mouse on the line coming out of the gate block and see what figure for Gate is going to, there must be hundreds of ways of measuring gate amplitude is going into a computer but that is one of them.if you do use reaktor put it in mono mode
