Need help with desktop full range build

So i want to build a smallish desktop speakers which will be used with a small subwoofer that i built, But cant decide what to do.
I was looking at markaudio chn-50 or chn-40 in a ported box.
So i wanted to ask:
1. Which one would be better for my application
2. Do they need some filtering to sound good
3. Are there any other recommendations for similar price (20€ per driver)

Good choice.

Which you choose depends on the sensitivity you want. The CHN-40 has similar bass potential to CHN-50, but with smaller cone is quite a bit less sensitive and will subsequently not be as capable at higher levels.

Personally i would choose CHN-50, as i have heard them, they fir nicely in 2-2.5 litrw miniOnken.

I was thinking the same, But does it need some notch filters or baffle step compensation.
I am trying to keep the cost dow so any additional components will add more cost, But if some additional components are gonna make it sound more pleasant i am willing to spend a little bit more.

Thank you , i will probably go with chn-50 since it seems that despite the chn-40 being smaller it actually requires a larger box, so i think that chn-50 is a better option.
I did look at some other "full range" drivers on soundimports, But cannot find anything better in that price range that i like.

Just make sure you give them hours and hours of break in before you judge them fully because these metal cone driver really need it.
Mine have been used for around 20h so far and i am really hearing the difference after each listening session, the suspension is much softer now than it used to be right out of the box.
