I have my VCR, XBOX, PS2 and Gamecube connected to my receiver through a switchbox. It hums pretty loudly so I got to thinking that maybe I have a ground loop issue. So I want to put together a couple audio isolation transformers inbetween the RCA connectors and see if that solves the problem. The trouble is that the only ones I can find are these from Radio Shack.

They freq response on those kind of sucks. Would it be better if I put two in series? Or where can I find some better ones?
thanks.

you could try finding the groudloop by eliminating each source slowly, it would get you to your goal without the expense of using an isolation transformer...a suitably rated one with good response would be hard to come by and expensive...
lolx...the only problem is that it ain't an Audio transformer...or maybe iut will work to 60Hz...
So maybe I worded what I'm looking for wrong... When we had these problems in my band, we throw on a DI box and click the ground lift switch.
I could buy a pair of Behringer Ultra-DI boxes with FR from 10Hz-93KHz for $32/ea but I gotta believe that the transformers alone are cheaper than that...

I'm not looking for AC line filters, I'm looking for a 1:1 transformer that I put between the RCAs coming out of my switchbox and the RCAs going into my amplifier...

You absolutely want to read and understand Bill Whitlock's papers on the Jensen Transformers site. IIRC, there was one in particular on troubleshooting ground loops.

That would be this one: Hum & Buzz in Unbalanced Interconnect Systems
