how about
25vrms 10A tranny
bridge rectifier
4,700uF cap
20mH 1ohm inductor (rated at 4-5A)
22,000uf cap
for 25vdc at 3A.

problem
angela has a 15mH 4A at 0.25 ohms or a 10mH 5A at 0.16 ohm inductors.
i will pick one of these.
4,700uf input cap and these chokes... then as much cap after as i can get away with.
problem is that being i am using the 25v 10A tranny and the low dcr choke... my DC voltage is too high.
Is it a bad thing to add say a 1ohm resistor in series somewhere in the PS to drop the voltage?
simulating this with a 36,000uf output cap and 1.25 ohm DCR on the choke... my ripple is now 28mV.
good enough for a source follower output stage.

Source for chokes
Here is one source of chokes, they will sell direct to you.

CLC ? Why this " stone age " solution ? Use capacitance multiplier and results will be much more better. 😉 In my " prehistory " JLH it was working quite well 😎 .
