Need help w/ MJ4030 & MJ4033

Hi folks -

Does anyone have any experience with the above mentioned devices?

I was down at the local surplus house the other day looking for some heat sinks to use on a sub-woofer amp. Lo and behold, I found exactly what I was looking for, and each of them had a couple of TO3 power transistors already mounted. I was really only interested in the heat sinks, and bought all they had.

Those power transistors turned out to be MJ4030 and MJ4033. I scrounged up a data sheet, and they are power darlingtons, 16 amps, but only 60 volts. I was going to just toss them aside, because 60 volts means about 30 volt rails (or less, for some margin), and at best that means about 80 watts into a 4 ohm sub-woofer, which is a bit weak. But then I looked at that 16 amp rating, and thought they might work pretty well if I built two of those 80 watt amps and bridged them together across that same 4 ohm subwoofer.

Has anyone used these devices before? And, has anyone seen a spice model for these?

thanks,
Mike
