Hi guys !
I have built a TABAQ full range speaker which has pretty good bass but I'm planning to play it higher (>80 hz) to increase its SPL. So, I have ordered this Aiyima 3116D2 2.1 amp which has a "100W" sub out (in "BTL mode").
SO, I want to build a cheap Sub and I selected the Pioneer TS-W306R driver because its really cheap.
Here are the specs of that driver.
So, for a frequency response of 30 to 80hz and low power output from the amp, which should be my ideal enclosure ?
EDIT:
WinISD is recommending a sealed arrangement. But, sealed means less efficient, right ?
Would it cause any issue with my cheap, low power chi-fi amp ?

No.

No.
No.
Ok, understood.
I have two more questions though 😛
1. Should I get wait till I get the amp to see its cross over point for the sub-out ? (Its a Chinese amp and I'm not trusting their literature saying a variable cross over point option)
2. What about the driver? Is it good enough for good amount of sub-bass ?
1. Crossover frequency seems to be fixed, probably at 100 Hz, which is OK. No need for variable frequency here.
2. For quantity (amount) - yes, it is. For quality - less so. But it is cheap and good value, for sure.

Any better 12” woofer recommendation?
Better woofers are much more expensive. Worth only if your full range satellite is exceptionally good. Which full range driver is in your TABAQ?
TS-W306R is just fine for use with W3-1053SC. Are you using some sort of Baffle Step Compensation with W3-1053SC, like parallel RL or RLC serially connected to the driver?

No, I have wired it directly to my amp.
But, why ?
Is it needed ?
Yes, it is mandatory. See here:

Hi All,
FYI:
b🙂
WOW ! Lots of graphs 😀
Thanks for taking your time out modelling the design. But, sorry to say that I'm not knowledgeable enough to understand what your graphs and charts say 😱
So, let me type what I understand from your post.
1. You have modeled the sub in band pass type enclosure.
But, what could be the dimensions ?
I just cannot decipher anything regarding dimensions of the enclosure from that graph.
Can anyone help me ?
2. The ideal cross over point is 154 hz.
Ok, so, I need to set 154hz as the XO in the amp, right ?
The 2.1 amp I bought is still in transit. I'll check it out when I get it.
3. You want me to close the port hole of the TABAQ ?
Sorry to ask but which frequency range it targets ?Yes, it is mandatory. See here:

Look at the second picture in the link. It is the driver frequency response with (bold black line) and without (thin blue line) RLC compensation. The biggest effect is at 3-4 kHz, but it is very broad - from 500 Hz till 10 kHz, to produce rather even and flat frequency response.

By the way, can you help me understand Bjorno’s post ?
Need help to understand the design proposed by Bjorno ! Its not like I'm not willing to learn the design but I have two small kids and I just don't have the time !
So, any help would be greatly appreciated !

Bought the Pioneer 306R subwoofer ! There is no turning back now !

Hi,
I think more help would be Spoon Feeding 😀
b 🙂
I agree !
Its just that I'm too busy to learn anything at the moment.
Thanks for the post by the way.
