I just bought 4 T1's and 2 SMPS300R power supplies. 3 came as version 1.3 with the on/off switches, the fourth is version 1.2 and has no switch. I wired one of them up to test and wasn't getting any audio out. I turned it up a bit and noticed very faint music coming from the speakers. I went back to the amp and noticed that music was also coming out of the amp! I thought I was crazy and you may to but I swear, it was audible through the amp. I could tell what song was playing! What have I done wrong? I bought the version without the pot. Do I need to do something to the pads where the pot is supposed to be? Caps, resistor, jumper? I tested the voltage in and I'm right at 36v on the money. I also checked the a/c voltage at the speaker terminals. When the audio gets noticeable, it's about 10 volts.
What!? Indeed, you are crazy. :O
By not having a volume pot your amp is basically a power amp as it is always set to output max power.
That song being reproduced by your speakers is comming from some radio station as If you leave the inputs open on your amp they will work like an antenna and so the signal captured then is amplified and by having a power amp you are playing that signal at max volume. That's why you can tell what is the song playing.
Having a power amp, with random signal is not an good idea. Also don't connect or disconnect anything to your amp while it is ON, specially while it is not fully grounded yet.

Yes, the sound was acutally coming from the amp. I know it sounds insame, but there were some harmonics resonating to the music in the amp. I wonder if the relays could do that? The source was coming from the zone 2 pre-amp output of my Onkyo receiver, not from a radio station. I had intended to use the volume controls on the Onkyo to control the volume. This is why I didn't get a pot.

edit: I figured out my issue. I had the amp wired to a speaker selector. I had one pair enabled and the "circuit protection" switch turned off so that it was basically straight through. However, I selected the wrong switch; one that wasn't connected to anything. I was driving the power into a open circuit, infinite resistance. So when I turned the pre-amp up high enough, somehow sound was bleeding onto the other speakers and through the speaker selector and something in the amp was acting as a speaker as crazy as it sounds. I turned on the correct pair, and it sounds good now. I can't turn it up too loud now though because it's getting late and the speakers are outside. I'll do some better testing tomorrow.
