Ahh, lets just say that it may be possible to make it work
It will be much easier and certain to copy a working speaker, but even if its perfect you may not like the sound of that at all, nothing is certain, to say the least

I like the sound of the old tube console radios. I like the sound of Klipsch corner horns. I like the sound of KEF's uni-q's for small speakers. I don’t like massive bass. I like warm solid music with crisp highs and decent low end.

I do have a new pair of HIVI RT8-II I was going to use in a small 2 way. I could swap the Neo CD3 with the RT8 if needed.
