Need HELP "Lamp replacement" Epson Timer!
Hello, I have been using Epson ELP5500c and the Projector automatically shut down after Lamp timer showed 2000 hours. I can not turn on the switch anymore...red lamp is blinking....
I tried to find the way to reset the timer from help menu while its working but I couldn't find the command or anything.
Since I couldn't reset the timer from help menu, I think its something to do with the chip on the lamp case.
- there is a small chip on the lamp (50c 100mA)
- The replacement lamp model ELPLP06
Does anybody know how to turn this on? The lamp is still alive...

I tried the command before 2000 hours auto-shut down but didn't work. Similar Epson projector has 5sec help hold to show the reset menu but my projector ELP 5500c didn't respond.
Any idea to restore or bypass this auto shutdown?
New lamp costs about $300 but you can get 800x600 projector for $350-400...
hmm maybe I just thrown away?

Hey dont do that!
If your just thinking about throwing it in the can, I'd be willing to purchase it off of you in it's current state!
Just send me an email if you are interested!

thank you. hmm I don't know how this chip? only a resister? works but it looks like unique for every lamp? I short it with small wire also block the circuit but nothing happened to restore the auto-shutdown.
If main chip has stored memory for lamp hours, what should I do?
do you think I can open apart and disconnect the battery? power source or something? Any advice?

that sound hard for me to do it. Any advice?
