Hi there
The correct size of a Linn 'Sondek' armboard is 298mm x 101mm x 10mm..Your arm mount sould be approx 222mm.Cut a piece of card or paper to the size of your mounted board & draw a line down the centre splitting the board in two equal parts.Measure 222mm from spindle centre til it lands on the Central line & mark...That will work out just right..If your using something such as the JA Michell 'VTA adjuster you mounting hole needs to be slightly bigger...
Hope this helps.Acrylic armboards work better than the Linn Formic/MDF/Formaica construction.Only problem your faced with is the sub-chassis to board mounting.Drilling alway through the face looks un tidy...

'nickBRN', this is a most interesting thread. However, I sugest that you have changed two, rather than one, variable as both the material and method of armboard attachment have been changed. I see that the armboard is now bolted onto the chassis rather than being held my three small, self-tapping screws (as before). How much of a difference does slackening off or adjusting the tension of the three bolts make to the sound?
