Well mostly we run tonewheel hammonds until we are ready to make coffins out of them. The tonewheel generator isn't going to give up making tones. If you want cheap power transformers cut up a kimball or lowrey, or even a Hammond Piper or J model, in my opinion.

Antekinc.com sells about any power transformer you would want, several people on here have mentioned them. Not sure what a 2W p-p is. If people want a 2 watt amp for 8 or 4 ohm speakers these days, they usually build a LM3886 IC amp circuit, with a single supply of 35 to 70 V dc. If you need any preamping or mixing, you'll need op amps at +-12 or +-15V. See chip amp thread under amps for how to build an IC amp.

Hi PKI,

have a look for a cheap 100 V line matching transformer for a minimum charge of 0.5 watts. Connect the primary's common to one plate, the 0.5 W connection to the other one and the 2 W tap to B+. Thus you have an output tranny for a primary impedance of 20 kohms.

Best regards!
