Hi there. I don’t know where to post this Q’ regarding on tweeters. I’d inherit an old advent speakers which I believed built way back on the 70’s. Just recently while listening to the music of Michael Franks I’d noticed that one of the fried egg tweeter is not working. Try to swap the other working one to see if works and it did works. So now I’m planning to replace it with the different tweeters. I don’t know nothing about measurements but I’m leaning on buying a tymphany Vifa xt25BG60-04. Can I put this one on my advent speakers. Thanks and more power.
There are 'copy' advent tweeters available:
Advent Style Replacement Speaker, Tweeter, Large Advent, New Advent, P85C00019
MW Audio MT-4112: Advent Copy Tweeter | Midwest Speaker Repair

The specifications of the Vifa don't match those of the 'copy' Advent.I don’t know nothing about measurements but I’m leaning on buying a tymphany Vifa xt25BG60-04. Can I put this one on my advent speakers.

For instance, the Vifa is much more sensitive than the 'copy' Advent.
Unless you have the knowledge and tools required to make adjustments to the crossover, you may be advised to consider a pair of 'copy' Advent tweeters.

That's the original orange 'fried egg' tweeter to be precise.
Actually that is a later much prettier version of the original (i have replaced many).

Yes, thats the one. When they blew they would spew ferro-fluid all over the back of the cone in the area of the VC and all one needed to do to know it was blown was a visual check. Took about 15min to run downstairs, get a fresh tweeter, install, test and get teh ciustomer out the door with a working speaker.

Which Advent speakers do you have msj965?
Attached is an image of the 'Original Large Advent' speaker.
It, the 'New Large Advent' speaker and the 'Advent Copy' tweeter are all illustrated here: Large Advent Tweeter (Page 1) - Line.17QQ.com

We weren’t a dealer until the new Large Advent came out. But we must have, I certainly know that tweeter.
Advent was very strict about who could be a dealer. Part of our adventure getting the brand was a trip to Seattle to stay and visit with the Advent rep, watch the Sonics on the Advent big screen… can’t remeber what else.
They came in by the truckload — hundred+ boxes humped into the basement and quickly back up and out the door, with another shipment on the way. We sold A LOT of Advents.

I don't recall Advent loudspeakers ever being on sale on this side of the pond - hence my interest.
Fortunately, Wikipedia has satisfied much of my curiosity: Advent Corporation - Wikipedia

Shoot!! That’s why my fingers have a sticky feelin.I have the same as Galu’s fig.Masonite ring and a metal plate on the tweeter.
But Warfedales and other brands we rarely saw over here. But we had a large smattering of Brit boxes. Tangent, IMF (my 2 favourites), Linn, KEF, B&W, Rogers, Chartwell, Falcon (XOs to go with the Audax raw drivers), Rega, had some Harbeth, JR, and Gales thru, i have very likely missed some.

The "Smaller" Advent was my first good speaker system in 1974.
Cost me about $77 each for a set.
Had them for years....... till 1986.
Now have the Maestros and enjoy them just as much.

I remember i had a huge CRT projector once from Advent.
And I remember selling those Advent "VideoBeam" systems in 1975.
