hi everyone I'm looking for decent sound card to use with truerta and homemade test mic. nothing too fancy maybe around $60-80. I spend most money on my diy tube and speaker. my wife would kill me in my sleep if I spend more than that .any suggestion?
thank you

I used to use the M-Audio Transit with good results (or rather, I still use it but as far as I know M-Audio no longer make the part for some reason). It is a good choice if you can get hold of one.

Nate,
For about $75 you can combine a Behringer UCA202 line level USB interface with a Xenyx 502 mixer. Just make sure the 502 is the newer model with phantom power. Meanwhile at $100 the Tascam US122-MkII is a very good USB interface with two mic inputs and line in/out. If you only need mic input and do not need to have line in/out available then either the Mic Mate or the Icicle would work at around $50.

I have Audiophile 192 M audio PCI
and True RTA
There is beter than True RTA....(virtinis for free)
And I think there may be beter than The M audio...
Well at least in my case I think my mother board and set up is quite noisy and can get good results (noise floor at -80 dB)
But others whit same set up have much beter results (noisse floor at -110dB)
Probably if I had external card it would have been beter in my case but then there is the compromise in speed one have to make with the USB conection compared to PCI.
When is usb 3 camming out?
