I need some help purchasing from the Netherlands and possibly sending the small package to US. Please send me a direct message if you can help. Thanks.
There is no issue ordering direct from the Netherlands to be delivered to the USA mainland.
Why do you need help?
Fedex and many other carriers are willing to do so.

Most people and sellers in NL have no problem sending a small package to the US.
Did you ask the seller?

As usual I can help out fellow hobby guys. Send me a PM with details.
Usually it becomes the "2 trap" way of working when private people are reluctant to pack stuff right and ship it to the USA, don't understand written communication of more than 1 sentence correctly, have big trouble filling in a few lines of an export form etc. Not too fond of it either but had the same service done for me by US members here.
Here in Germany the usual phenomenon is that people not even want to ship within Germany and think you will drive 400 km to pick up a 100 Euro item 😀

Hmm , I thought only Brits are this way. "sorry I don't have original packing for the amp so it's a pickup only" " how many credentials do I need so I won't get ripped off on my 30 years old junk I'm sellin for 10 pounds? "As usual I can help out fellow hobby guys. Send me a PM with details.

Anyway , I can vouch for J-P . He graciously helped me with similar task and it was a stellar A+ experience.
I guess I don't understand. It's a painless transaction.
I recently bought a VFET amp from the Netherlands, used Paypal F&F, got shipped via FedEx. I must say that International Fedex treated the amp better than domestic US UPS....

Sometimes one must wade through possible scammers, people that always want easiest life, distrustful sellers that usually prove they can not be trusted, boneheads that sell their defective stuff etc. Thankfully most are simply honest people.
There sure is risk. My latest scam was one month ago. Too bad. Low scam count in many transactions but not 0. Those that buy once a year and have a success usually don’t understand. They did well, failure is for others.
Still we can help out eachother and be a community of good experiences. Raise the average level. Simple.

I bought from a fellow DIY'er.
I had no problem doing Paypal F&F. It came from my checking account...
BTW, I have a specific checking account exclusively used for Paypal F&F so that protects me.
I buy audio stuff on line, used, about four or five times a year. Audiogon and the Audio sites ( US and Canadian ). The only time I was sort of scammed was on eBay by someone who sells a bunch of things besides audio. But for that I used Paypal with a CC, so I got my money back.
Oh, back in Y2K I had some jerko, on eBay, send me a Marantz 2240 instead of the 4140 he was selling. It really pissed me off, so I ended up just paying $40 for it... and eventually I gave it away. It was too heavy to bother shipping it back.
eBay is the place to watch out for.

Yeah that is right. My latest scam was via Paypal F&F in a very clever way. So clever that Paypal had trouble discovering how it was done. It was a wave of this new method and many were scammed. Paypal did not do anything besides their investigation. No one got their money back.
You don’t have ANY protection.

What happened?
Too much to type but organised crime in numbers. Started with identity theft of german accounts.
In order to buy something from abroad one usually has to register to the local selling site. If it's a fairly expensive purchase in a range of $1000 many people are hesitant to deal with a stranger from abroad who just registered. They are suspicious even if you offer F.F paypal payment. The occasional sellers simply don't know how to pack properly for most of the time. It's way better to seek help of a friend who is local ,speak the language and can act as a middleman. Once stuff gets on Ebay it is 20-50% more expensive.
There is a simple way to check (too) good an offer. Take the pictures of the item and search for identical ones on the net. Do a right click on the pic and then "Google Lens". You find identical pics in a second.
It prevented me from loosing money on some occasions (music instruments, speakers and tools). I found the origional pictures to come from other countrys.
I just honestly asked the seller to sent another picture of the item because of this, with his hand visible, thumb up. The response was "forget it, I don't sell to you idiot". Alarmed eBay and all his offers where erased, account too. Me no idiot...

The cases last month were (hacked) trustful accounts of german people that had joined Kleinanzeigen long ago. The scammers knew the tricks too. They actually had the stuff and could make pictures (which they did).
Only way to avoid it would have to not have used Paypal F&F. That was exactly the weakest link. The initial safe payment was met with an error message. How they did this I don’t know. As the deal was already made a diversion was done via Paypal F&F. These can not be undone either. The Paypal address is a typical german adress but it is an alias to an xxxx@gmx.com e-mailadress of a scammer group in an english speaking African country. Although Paypal acknowledges these are criminals they only close the specific account but state you trusted a friend and paid that friend. What else do we expect from an american bank?

This case has been arranged. Successfully too as the package arrived containing the right items in good condition which is nice 🙂
