I need a Bluetooth receiver for my convertible so I can hear the audio from a new GPS unit. There is no way you can hear the little built-in speaker of a GPS with the top down on the highway! (You also can't see the display when the sun is out, but that is another matter.) My old GPS had an analog output that I interfaced to my mobile amplifier. This worked like a charm with plenty of volume. But, I need a new unit now, and the analog output has disappeared from the new models. The new models do, however, have Bluetooth.
Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth receiver I can plug into my amp? Would any of the cheap boards on eBay do the job? I'd rather not buy a whole new car radio, just to get Bluetooth. A little diy is fine. BTW, I don't need high fidelity just for driving directions.

For what your going to pay for a nice blue tooth you could get a nice after market deck with built in blue tooth. Alpine has some nice deals right now.
