Question regarding a step up transformer for ELS energizer, please kindly

Hello folks!

I've got a pair of Jecklin Floats coming from Germany, PS2 energizer - This is my first foray into the Float world, for better or worse, as repairs are needed (relatively confident I can handle it). I'm in the US.

I have a step-up transformer coming, but I'm wondering now...

To my knowledge, I shouldn't be worried about the cycles, as in effect, the energizer should actually run a bit better, with energy delivery to the caps a bit faster, less saturation in the transformer, etc, going from 50hz to 60hz...

Am I overlooking something in this regard? I don't believe there's anything in the energizer that would be affected by the cycle discrepancy, right? I'd assume going from 60hz to 50hz would be a cause of possible concern, not the other way around?

Best regards and thanks in advance!

Seriously though there is a European model and an American model, the EU model has a European socket --207 Volts AC-240 Volts AC .

This thread might be better off in the headphone section ?

It should still work on the US 60HZ mains as long as there is a step-down transformer or Variac ( 120 Volts AC is the US spec. on them.

If you can live with your partner /friends commenting - "beam me up Scotty " comments --- and yes it did put a lot of people off in the UK they are actually pretty good soundwize .

Quad.de (Germany ) can or could supply parts as they took over control .

Have a read of a head-fi thread-

LOL! I am ready for the barrage of ridicule and lambasting from friends and family!

I suppose I could keep an eye out for the US model somewhere too. Might be wise anyway, because Quad stated that the energizer needs one out of the four transformers replaced... and that may just be the tip of the iceberg. I'll attempt a poke around inside to see if I can identify any issues, and perform a reflow of solder joints, perhaps I can revive it.

Thanks so much for the vote of confidence, and I'll consider posting in headphones next time, it was kind of a grey area in my mind.

In addition, many thanks for the links you provided - I have seen the 2nd one, but the 1st has awesome info (pictures, really) that I haven't seen!!
