Are you using Jfet LTP or mosfet LTP?

Mosfet for now, maybe Jfet in future since I have some matched 74's...

On Nelson's Mu Monster he uses 50mA on the mosfet LTP. That will drive absolutely anything you throw at it. In which case I'd stick with IRFP240, but the Cree devices are far superior in terms of capacitance

I would try the Aleph-X but not with the IRFP240s. You need an older FET (044, 140, 150). Even though mine never satisfied me, others have had success with it. Remember, this design is over 10 years old so with the latest cap multipliers, differential chokes and better testing/matching equipment more accessible, this could the best Pass project. With that trafo you could run 0.1R source resistors on a classic (2 pair) Aleph-X and drive Wilson Watt Puppies or even a dead short if you wanted to 🙂
