I read a lot on the forum but I still need some advices on my futur project.
I want to build a projector with the I-O DATA A15V, but not to be use on a OHP. They are way to pricy here in canada! 300$ US for a new 3m ohp that produce 2800 lumen. So I want to build my own "case" with a Metal Halide bulb, lens, etc.
For now all I found is this:
LCD: 15" I-O DATA A15V
LIGHT: Metal Halide 400w, 38000 lumen
Lens: ???
So all I need is lens.. maybe some mirror. But I don't have a clue on lens! should I build a 2 or 3 lens projector? what kind of lens will fit with a 15" lcd??

OHP's in Canada
Try going to the video equipment rental places to find a second hand OHP. I found a second hand 3M9550 with 2 new lamps for $150.00 cdn here in Nova Scotia. I'd be willing to bet you find something in Quebec..look in surplus shops...you guys got a couple really good surplus shops as I remember from my trips through your province. I bought my 10 foot motorized screen from a office liquidator for $175.00. Good deals to be had all over the place.

For the ohp.. life time of the bulb is a big factor for me, I don't have the money to spend evey month for a new bulb. 🙁
Check ebay. I got an Elmo Solar Deluxe 305 for $150 and it was only missing the top glass. Do a search for an online store called "inventory solutions" (who I won the auction from). The Elmo has a Metal Halide bulb, which gives you thousands of hourse of bulb life, has the best color reproduction, and puts off much less heat than other types of bulbs w/ the same lumen output.
I'm not sure how much extra shipping is into Canada. I know there's fees, but it's still probably worth it.
