Need advice on full rage TV only DIY kits

I will be in need of new TV speakers for my living room. I will be using them for TV 90% and music 10%. They will be in phantom mode 100% of the time WITHOUT any subs. I will be using my old Yamaha AVR that is 4ohm stable for stereo, bass and treble for eq only (for now) And they must be capable of at least 40hz or lower. They will be in a corner so I’ll have to figure for a front port. I have 39” from tv to floor if I want them under the TV but I fully expect taller ones so height is not an issue as of now. I am hoping for something in a kit form rather than me trying to build xo’s. I also do not need a flat pack, I will be building all the cabs from raw material as I have built all my other cabs.

THEY MUST BE A FLOOR STANDING TOWER.

I’ve thought about the DIYSG 1099’s or HT’s but I’ll need a sub so for now that’s a no. I’ve also thought about the classic 2.5 but feel that they would not be an upgrade to what I have now. I seriously would love to build the testarossa’s but I feel they would be wasting away doing TV duty and they are a little out of my budget, the statement ll seem to be the best fit but are at the far end of my budget. FYI - I’d even consider a line array. Bonus if it’s a good off axis ribbon tweeter of some sort

Soooo..... I’m looking to spend up to $1000 for a pair of DIY kits, i am wondering if you feel it would be worth the money just for TV duty or maybe just any 5-$700 a pair towers..

Thoughts......
Thank you, Chad

For reference this is my theater so I am not in need of anything else besides what you read above, all other duty’s are covered.

OK, so clearly y’all don’t need too much advice from anyone here on what constitutes a serious HT system, but some of the comments I made on the full-range sub-forum would still apply.
In a small room with much more near field conditions than the big system shown here, I think you’d could get by with something quite decent for less than $1000, but then I don’t know your threshold, so ....

I have an itch to build some towers for no good reason but to always enjoy great sound.... and I don’t want a sub.

So, this is more of fun rather than what I should do. Lots of options but I’m stuck on a tower. I think that’s why I’m so undecided and seeking advice on a clearly overkill setup.

I was googling some of the drivers you advised but I failed to find an actual kit, I would need a xo that is already designed (I can solder it all together) but the design is far past my ability or time I’m willing to invest.

I am not saying “I need” a super tower but I am saying that I’m looking for a capable tower to not need a sub, is some of what you were advising capable of at least 2.5-way setup maybe? If so I failed to understand.

Some of the kit sites I found... but even these sites have limited “capable” choices.?.

Check Paul Carmody's Swope,
It may fit your bill.
There is also Tarkus, but I think it will be far to big.

There are also several 3-way designs on HTGuide thread with DIY speaker thread list mainly made from Dayton.

Speakerdesignworks have some nice designs too, with closed back versions as well.
