I'm looking for some help/advice from the DIY community as for what you think a good amp would be for a small professional wall mount jukebox.
I have experimented with several of the Lepai amps which use various chips including the Tripath. I know these are pretty low on the quality chart and low wattage which is probably why anytime I get past 1/4 of the volume they start to distort. I have also tried various 12V car audio amps and they sound pretty good, but it feels like I need a little more power (volume) then they can provide. The car audio stuff is also usually a little too big to fit inside the unit. Tried the Pioneer 3300T (300watt two channel) as a test. Besides it being too large in physical size, I felt it was a little weak on the volume too.
Here is what I'm trying to accomplish....
I have a pretty small space to work with - 10.5" W x 5.5" H and 3" thick.
Looking for a two channel 8ohm amp with a clean HIFI sound and solid volume.
It would be nice to run the amp off the 12V line from the PC power supply but this requirement can change to 110V if more power was needed. The current PC power supply has two 12volt rails 19amps each. The computer uses about 12-14amps.
And of course budget has to get in the way. Trying to accomplish this for under $150 per unit.
This product would be produced in qty.
Hopefully my requirements aren't too far out in left field and maybe someone here who has a lot more experience with this stuff can suggest some options.
This might also be an opportunity for someone here who is willing to manufacture a custom amp for us? Open to suggestions.

If it wasn't for the tight budget I'd recommend the Hypex UCD180 modules. It has the quality, small size, and power you're looking for but it might be a little on the expensive side.
Granted, I don't know what Hypex's bulk OEM pricing is like. Might want to contact them, you never know what you'll find.
Only other thing is it will require it's own power supply, it will not work off the PC power supply.

Check this out and mail me if you want to know further. This amplifier may be modified for up to 2x200W on 8 ohms output without altering size. In comparison, the Pioneer unit would only produce 40W on 8 ohms at best.

If you're wanting high quality and high power, you won't want to run from a PC power supply. First, these are switchmode power supplies that introduce noise into the signal that a good linear supply won't. Second, the best you're going to get from a PC power supply is +/- 12V, which isn't a lot of voltage swing, so this will limit the power.
I think you'll have to use a regulated supply to accomplish what you want.

I'm looking at the UCD180 OEM and looks to be a nice option. I'm wondering what the difference is between the following inputs and which one you would use for audio coming from a Computer LineOut
