I have 2 Fosgate HE12's 8ohms each. I want to add 2 more 12's. I want to keep amp bridged mono. I am running a punch 500.2 amp. If I got 1 that is 4ohm & 1 that is 8ohm would running them in series parralel. give me a 4ohm load. Any help would be great.
You have no choice but to get 8 ohm woofers and wire the 4 in series-parallel for a total load of 8 ohms. Any other arrangement will not equally divide the power between all 4 woofers.
Thanks for the input. I geuss I will just have to sell the 2 that I have & buy 4 4ohm woofers. I want to get the most out of this amp as possible. If you know of any other way to get more please let me know
They are single voice coil. I had orignally planned on using just the 2. But decided I wanted more. 8ohm is used in car audio alot.
Especially when using just 2 subs bridgeing a stereo amp mono.
Vented will need the same volume for 2 drivers as 4 sealed drivers
but 2 drivers vented will manage more low bass than 4 sealed, and
~ double the amount of low bass juice the drivers can take.
They are sealed. I have not had any luck building vented enclosures. If you have diagrahm of a vented enclosure that would work with these subs that would be great.
