I have decided to go with my nview z210 to make my plexiglass (well, lexan now) projector compact. 😀. Though I would kill to use this lcd for projection becuse it looks awsome, I have a great nview z210, and I can not keep both. The nview has a smaller screen, and i can make my projector a quarter of the size. If you are going to use an ohp, this panel is the way to go from what I have read. It has a very great image!
If you ever wanted to try the nec 1545, but dont want to risk breaking ribbon cables, this one is all set and ready to go. The lcd itself is sandwiched between two pieces of plexiglass so you do not to have to worry about breaking ribbon cables. From the plexi glass case is a cable running to the controller boards and power supply (both external), the lcd can easily be removed with out risking damage to panel. If any one wants it, i will let it go for $180 shipped and insured. I am paypal verified if anyone cares 🙂.

awwww man I was waiting for pictures on that bad puppy, what made you decided to use the lower res panel, Just a space issue?
Mostly space issues. I would love to use the panel, but a custom case that big would be to big to put anywhere in my house. With an ohp though, it would not be so bad space wise, but I want to create a custom case 😀. Also, i was thinking about it, and i am only really going to use my projector for watching tv... I rarley rent movies, and 640x480 looks fine with an interlaced dvd. I never connected my pc to my last setup. So, i have this great z210 layin' around collecting dust that i got for like $35, and it has good specs, 16.7 million colors @ 640x480. So I figure why not use that, save the space, and sell my xga panel to buy a better electronic ballast or somthing. Anywho, you will still see some kick *** pictures I assure you 🙂! I
dont do it!

Been down that road......
bought a Infocus powerview 820 recently for the same reason, to downsize my Yugo sized projector......it's a nice panel- 800x600 even.......but wasn't even on the same planet as the 1545. Not even close. Once you've used a nice 15" panel you're spoiled for life! Keep it till after you build the new one...you'll go back to it sooner or later!

Heh. I know what you mean. Every one who has used the 1454v has loved it. Hell, i used it as a monitor for a few weeks and am said to have to go back to a crt, but 15" is too small for me. I still am going to sell it and use my z210 to make my projector. This way i can work out all the bugs of working with lexan.

What panel is this that you have found?
Verbose do you have any pictures of the lcd and plexiglas contraption that you have built? If you could post them or e-mail to me.

I'll let you know if the controller I've got ordered runs it. Spent like a day tracking down a controller that is "supposed to" work, and it's on backorder......

Stats PLEASE!!
Stop teasing us!! What are the complete stats on that sharp panel (contrast ratio, response time, etc) and what controller card are you using. This is about the size of panel I would like to use if it's native resolution is XGA.

I'm going to run mine on a SBC that has the controller built in....its a C&T 69000 chipset
its a ttl panel not lvds so its not as hard
The panel easily dissasembles so its easy to take the backlight out and no ribbon cables to move etc
