Hello,
Not wishing to hijack this thread but I have a question about 4" SB acoustics drivers.
I have built a 3-way using the SB12MNRX25-4. The harmonic distortion is not great on this driver, and SB acoustics have since released an updated version, SB12MNRX2-25-4, which has an improved motor and cone.
But there is also a new midwoofer, ceramic coated aluminium, SB12CACS25-4.
I am tossing up which of these to use, and whether or not either would bring a noticeable improvement over the current driver. The driver is being used as a mid-range between ~500 Hz to ~3000 Hz with active amplication so can have steep crossover slopes if necessary.
Current midrange driver:
SB12MNRX25-4
Possible replacements:
SB12MNRX2-25-4
SB12CACS25-4
Midrange cabinet volume is 3.6 l.
Any thoughts?
