at IEEE Spectrum they reported about the issue of flexible Nano-Wire-coated PET films to replace ITO-coated films.
Nano-Wire-coating
ITO sputtered PET films are kind of standard materials for TFT-display manufacture.
But ITO beeing brittle, it develops cracks on flexible films that are used as acoustic transducer membranes, which very probabely is the reason behind MartinLogan changed from pure ITO films to recoating the ITO films with their ´slurry´ named coating liquid.
Being distributed in a liquid form, Nanowires could be coated with ink-compatible procedures.
So far development seems to go into the direction of creating low-ohmic coatings, but hopefully high-ohmic coatings will be developed too
