Nakamichi cdc-3a laser?

Can anyone here tell me what model laser the Nakamichi CDC-3A cd player uses? I've never encountered it before and cant find any markings. Trying to repair it as the laser is kaput! Thanks.

It's a Pioneer PWY1009, used in almost every Pioneer 6-disc changer model made from around 1987-90 or later(PD-M400-PD-M910, more or less). They don't go bad very often, even now, other than the common failure of the glue that holds the lens into the focus actuator(which is simply a matter of rescuing the lens from where ever it's rattling around in the unit & carefully gluing it back in place).

Hi Stephensank or other fellow ...

As the glue Pioneer use is water based and in high humidity conditions it fall apart , what kind of glue did you recomend?

I use a tiny bit of silicone rubber adhesive around the inside edge of the "collar" of the focus actuator. Works very nicely. Can't count how many of these I have fixed this way & haven't had one fail yet.
