Anyone have any experience with Naim CD Players?
What is your opinion on the CD5i, x, x2 line? (These are players in the $1700-$5200 price range.)
Have you compared them to other CDPs? I compared it to the Rega line of CD players and found Naim to be higher in detail and accuracy.
Thanks,
Vince

Rega players are very good sounding almost like an analog device, but you should read this: http://www.tnt-audio.com/sorgenti/naim_cd5x_e.html

I read that article after I bought the CD5X & know about the upgrade. That's what makes it nice. I have the CD5x now. Upgrading the power supply bumps it up to the next level. It's like buying the CDX2 w/out the external PS. I'm not ready to spend the $$$ on an X2. I never bought an A/V piece that cost this much before. I hope I made a good choice. My ears think so.
I auditioned CDPs without reading any reviews. I picked the 5X due the quality of the sound. My concern is should I have listened to other brands besides Naim, Rega, Music Hall or Cambridge? Krell makes a CDP in this range, but I heard the transport is noisy and slow, but could have been an isolated incident.
thanks for the reply,
Vince
