Can anybody help please......
I have what seems to be a little used 6240. Audio sounds fine but there is an irritating "ticking" sound coming from the mechanism during playback (but not during fast forward / reverse).
I'm wondering if this is the slipping clutch on the takeup spool drive?
Before I dive in I wondered if anybody had encountered this before.
Also, is it worth replacing drive belts? Any lubrication needed? There are no obvious transport problems apart from the "tick".
One LED on the level indicator didn't work but this was just a dry joint. Are they prone to this?
