Hello to all....as with most amplifiers that show signs of fading in and out once they've been on for a few hours before the fault show's up...I tend to reflow dry solder joints cracked tracks etc and clean scratchy sounding volume/controls... sometimes I've came across the mica sheet that's between the power transistors and heat sink to have small holes in it thus shorting out the devices...
problem occured again - time to change this rely
Problem reoccurs again on mine every 3-6 months. How difficult is it to replace this relay?
I fixed my NAD 314 amplifier with this trick
Thanks to everyone that gave good advices.
I fixed my NAD 314 amplifier by opening the black relay close to the speaker output terminals.
I first tried to fix it with brown paper + electric fixing spray, but this didn't work. Then I just took sanding paper and gently scraped those two surfaces.
Now it's fixed.

If the contact plating is worn out it will oxidize again but quicker. Abrasives aren't the way to fix contacts, that removes the plating and damages the smooth surface - burnishing will work best. The relay spring may have weakened with age too, exacerbating the contact issues.
