NAD 3100 Schematics

I don`t think the relay`s have anything to do with this fault.
The amplifier goes in protection mode when I turn it on, and the green power led lights only for a couple seconds before it goes out again. The main power are up, +/-60 and +/-45V are ok.

I'm afraid you're right, you're going to need the schematic.

When the relays go bad they click like normal when they pull in, but the sound is weak and sometimes distorted.

My guess is that your DC off-set is drifting, maybe some freeze-mist would help you find the problem.

Protection circuit

Hi!
Have you checked the protection-circuit in it self?
I once had a NAD 1300 Pre-amp, witch one day never wanted to turn on, the delay-circuit/relay driver was dead.
(I just removed the relay, and put in a pair jumpers).

It`s working again!
Just a smal regulator (+18V) transistor that was blown.
One outputstage was also blown, but it was the defect +18V regulator that kept the protection on even without outputstage mounted...

Thanks for the input!
